Anderson guitars are a shop favorite and for good reason. Every instrument they build is a bullseye. A classic HSS pickup configuration with a floyd rose term and some of the best craftsmanship under the sun gives us yet another absolute stunner. The ziricote fretboard looks beautiful and also gives the tone the snappiness of ebony. Hot-rodded and primed to shred, this one’s definitely ready to rock.
The neck is a perfect mix of slim without being paper-thin. The even-taper shape is smooth and, combined with the compound radius of the fretboard, allows for effortless playing wherever you happen to be on the neck. We get this neck shape on a lot of the guitars we order because it seems to work universally for so many people that are looking for something slim and fast. The fretwork is immaculate and the recessed tremolo allows you to drop the action really low without having to worry about fret buzz (of course, that’ll also be dependent on how hard you strum, but it’s really quite impressive how low it’ll go). We gave this bad boy a floyd rose locking tremolo so you never have to worry about your strings going out of tune when using the whammy bar. This really is a swiss army knife kind of guitar with the kind of playability that is nothing short of angelic and divine.

For those of you who know our guitar models, think of Guardian Angel as a Drop Top Classic with a full two-octave range. But that is just the beginning. Completely designed and aligned from the ground up to be a 24 fret “angel” of a guitar with unparalleled abilities. We gorgeously reshaped and balanced the body to allow extended access to the upper frets, via the deeper cut-aways and longer horns.
As with all Anderson Guitars, Guardian Angel is endowed with the best playing guitar necks to be found anywhere—Anderson’s legendary, super-fast and ultra-easy playability in an array of our Even-Taper back shapes. Unparalleled performances.
Guardian Angel’s pickguard is specifically cut as to nuzzle its neck pickup nearest the 24th harmonic, for the richest “24” neck tone obtainable. You may like to call it, 24-fret neck-pickup magic.
All Anderson pickups and pickup layouts are available for Guardian Angel so you can outfit as you prefer and access all your favorite electric guitar tones—and much more—via our familiar and intuitive, multi-dimensional, 5-Way, or 3-Way switching setups, which easily brings all sounds you could ever imagine under your command.

SC 1: Slightly more than vintage level, single coil sound, humcanceling (great for neck and middle application).
HC 2: Our other most popular humbucker, perhaps. Who wouldn’t love a medium-hot output package with all the vintage flavor firmly in place, wound to create a full bouquet of tonalities. Muscular mids with a smattering of lush and soft highlights so it is impressively musical, with never a hint of that “oops, I accidentally sat on a duck,” tone. Beautiful from all tonal angles.
