Built in ESP’s USA factory right here in California, these instruments are top-of-the-line instruments on par with their renowned, artisan-made Japanese Custom Shop guitars. This stunning M-III FR in a striking Black Sparkle finish with a gorgeous matching headstock fully lives up to our expectation and more.
This is a classic HSS Superstrat at its core, with a 25.5″ scale length that provides great acoustic brightness and clarity, pairing well with the mahogany body. The workmanship is flawless as you would come to expect from ESP USA’s North Hollywood workshop, including the beautifully-done stainless steel frets that make fretting and bending feel effortless. The neck shape itself is a nice middle-ground of “modern thin” whilst still having enough volume to wrap your hand around. All kinds of legato can be pulled off with minimal effort and expressive vibrato is always at your fingertips. The Floyd trem is ready to take any type of pitch-bending acrobatics you can think to conjure up!
We especially love the tones of the Seymour Duncan pickup set. They’re solidly in a “sweet spot” output range of “a little more than vintage, but not too hot” to cover any genre. The Classic Stack Plus pickups are fully noiseless single-coils as well, giving you the bite of a single-coil without the annoying hum. Their warm tone pairs well with the Alnico II Pro in the bridge.

For this particular guitar, ESP USA chose a versatile Seymour Duncan H-S-S pickup set comprised of Classic Stack noiseless single-coils and an Alnico II Pro humbucker that offers players a gorgeous palette of tones on tap when combined with the 5-way switch. The satin-finished slim U-shaped quartersawn maple neck with an ebony fretboard, jumbo stainless steel frets and a 12″ radius plays fast while remaining familiar to players of vintage-style instruments. Rounding out the M-III GT’s high-end specifications is the double-locking Floyd Rose Original tremolo, a well-cut bone nut, Sperzel tuners, & Schaller strap locks. To top things off, ESP includes a premium hardshell case to protect the guitar nicely.
