The new V-mod pickups pump out a slightly higher output for better definition and clarity in the low-mids and really emphasize that fretless “mwah”. You get that classic Jazz bass growl and can easily still dial in vintage tones while maintaining the capacity to get a little more modern than the American Standards of old. The lined fretboard is a nice aide for anyone who needs a little guidance when flying around the board without any speed bumps. The factory setup on this J Bass is phenomenal and we’ve gone over it to double check. The neck is straight, the action is low and the intonation is right on the money (though of course, on a fretless, a lot of the intonation work will be done by you, as the player). A classic design with a slightly modern take makes this a solid addition to Fender’s line of basses.
