The LB-100 made its debut some 20 years ago continuing Leo Fender’s legacy on what’s become probably the most iconic and timeless bass ever designed. The idea is simple: It’s a slightly upgraded version of a classic, tried and true design. Picture the familiarity and ease of its predecessor, but with improved comfort and balance, better note definition, and longer sustain. Organic and direct, the sound is the perfect one-size-fits-all bass tone. Lay the foundation for every other instrument to stand on and hold the groove, or step out in the mix and cut through like a chainsaw with that upper-mid grind and growl. The body carve contours nicely to your body, encouraging multi-hour practice and playing sessions. G&L has dialed in the fretboard just right with immaculate fretwork that allows for nice low action without any fret buzzing.
This is the perfect bass for anyone who plays several styles of music and needs a reliable instrument that’ll hold up and sound great night after night. Tonally this is definitely steeped in the traditional 60’s sound but has some modern touches that improve playability and adds some definition to the sound.

While the tone remains unchanged, thanks to a faithful recreation of the original LB-100 Alnico V pickup wound in-house at G&L, playability is enhanced with Plek fret processing making this LB-100 the best yet.
Made in Leo Fender’s historic G&L facility on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, the LB-100 is now available with a wide range of custom options including body and neck woods, body and neck finishes, neck profiles and pickguard materials.
