We’re absolutely stoked to present this Suhr Custom Modern! This one is most definitely one of the coolest Moderns we’ve had come through the store – it’s part of a set of Drip Sparkle-finished siblings we’re getting from our friends in Lake Elsinore. Starting with a white-painted canvas for the cascading blue & silver sparkle drip (and phenomenal matching headstock!), this one also features the balanced combination of a mahogany body and roasted maple neck.

The Suhr Modern is Suhr’s take on the “Superstrat”, a hot-rodded platform for the modern-day player who’s not afraid to deviate from the norm and needs a more aggressive look and sound, whilst still retaining the familiar shape, Suhr features, ease of use, and high-quality craftsmanship.

Beyond its looks, it’s clear from the specifications of this model that John and the gang took a minute to sit down and think about what the most practical guitar would be for a player who wants to focus on playing and sounding their best with no obstruction. We love how this guitar retains features from Suhr’s more vintage-style models, such as the lightning-fast, perfectly-shaped roasted maple neck that remains ultra stable through the elements while feeling amazing to play, as well as the Gotoh 510 bridge with a steel tremolo block and the locking tuners. The latter is especially cool because, well, let’s face it – the double-locking tremolo that usually comes on this style of guitar is awesome, but isn’t for everyone. Opting for the standard 2-point trem and locking tuner configuration ensures both easy maintenance while still getting pretty much all the way there in terms of tuning stability and usage.

The Suhr Aldrich pickups in this one absolutely rip. They’re the hottest ‘pups in the Suhr arsenal and they take no prisoners. The signature pickup of renowned hard rock guitarist Doug Aldrich, these stay tight, focused and punchy at any level of gain, never losing definition in even the most saturated of lead tones. Hard rock and metal guitarists will feel right at home with these pickups under their fingers, and the neck and bridge set are perfectly matched. But even with their high output, they’re dynamic and sweet, as well! We also had coil-splits included with the wiring of this axe for even more versatility.
