If you’re looking at this beautiful Custom Standard, chances are you’re already familiar with the impeccable reputation that Suhr have built for themselves over the years. Known for their high-end boutique hot-rodded guitars, the craftsmanship and playability of these guitars is unparalleled. With this one, we’re stoked that Suhr is showing some love to our lefty friends out there.

This southpaw axe features a gorgeous Trans Red finish over a resonant swamp ash body, a roasted maple neck with rosewood fingerboard that combines the slightly thicker Even C Medium neck profile with the typical 10″ – 14″ compound radius from the Standard for the ultimate combination of vintage familiarity and modern buttery playability, and Suhr’s V63+ (formerly ML Standard) pickups.

The silent (that’s right! No more noisy 60-cycle hum!) single-coil circuitry allows you to retain 100% of that genuine single coil sound without any of the noise. The ML Standard/V63+ pickups, made with the same Alnico V magnets sourced for real vintage pickups, are voiced for authentic 1963 “S” tones with a bit more of a modern edge. They’re moderately higher output than an average single-coil, but are still incredibly touch-sensitive and responsive to picking dynamics like a vintage guitar should be. These awesome pickups combined with the SSCII system ensures that the only noise coming out of your guitar will be music that you are creating. You can isolate any of the pickups without ever worrying about added hiss.

Add the supremely functional Suhr locking tuners, fantastic Gotoh 510 2-point tremolo, contoured heel and other contemporary appointments and improvements, this Standard is legendary tone meets modern playability wrapped up in a gorgeous package.

The Suhr Standard is a sleek take on the Classic design. The body is slightly downsized and has a sharper radius on the edges with slightly longer horns to give it a modern, yet classy look. The Standard is equipped with some of our most popular features including an Even C Medium neck profile, stainless steel frets, and our proprietary SSCII hum cancelling system.
